As a furniture designer and maker, I handcraft one of a kind furniture made to last for
generations.
My education and professional background lie in the architectural field. After receiving
my Masters Degree from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee School of Architecture in 1993, I was involved in the
design, planning and construction phases of a variety of projects. I also enjoyed teaching design at the University
of Wisconsin - Green Bay. Over time, I discovered my true passion, designing and crafting furniture.
My work is inspired by elements from the Bauhaus movement to Danish and Mid-Century modern design. This
influence can be seen in the sculptural joinery, defined edges and simplicity of my work.
I enjoy
every aspect of making furniture. From design to lumber selection to the labor intensive process of carving and shaping domestic
hardwoods into graceful and elegant forms. I try to achieve a balance between light and heavy elements by interconnecting
hard and soft lines that make each piece pleasing to the eye and touch.
